Inventory Tracker

A business managing stock across several locations was counting inventory in spreadsheets that were always slightly out of date. Items ran out without warning, the warehouse and the shops disagreed about what was in stock, and month-end reporting took days of reconciliation.

I built an inventory system with a React front end and a Node.js API on PostgreSQL. Staff record stock movements in and out from any location, counts update in real time in a shared warehouse view, and low-stock alerts go out when items fall below thresholds set per product. Exports and reports are generated from the same data, so month-end no longer means reconciling files.

Every location sees the same numbers, stockouts are caught before they happen, and reordering is driven by real thresholds instead of guesswork. Month-end reporting became a download rather than a project.
